First Christmas
McKenzie's first Christmas! We rotate each year where Christmas is between Mom and Dad's, Mamaw and Papaw's, and our house. This year it was at my parent's on the farm in Dandridge. We had Christmas Eve dinner and opened gifts with my cousin Sam since she had to work Christmas day. My Uncle Ricky cooked a delicious prime rib and we all potlucked the rest of dinner. It was great as normal. Around nine or so we went back home for the night. We got up Christmas morning and drove back to Dandrige. It was a white Christmas!!! We had a nice, big breakfast and then opened the mound of gifts. Kenzie did a good job at opening her gifts and particularly enjoyed a steering wheel toy she got. Brooke (now 1) was also interactive this yeas and enjoyed opening her gifts too. It was fun to watch the little ones and to see how Christmas has changed with them here. It is really a joy to watch them! After opening gifts with my family we went to South Knoxville and had Christmas with Johnny's mom, Peggy. It was a very nice time with a good lunch. She went way overboard with gifts for her grandbaby, but I must say Kenzie did enjoy it! We stayed there until around 5:30 and then home to rest and play with our new toys! I couldn't have imagined it going any better! We were so thankful to celebrate Jesus' birthday with such a wonderful family!
Happy 4th of July
Our plans for the 4th was to go to the lake with Johnny's family in GA. We have made it an annual event to get together with them either in GA or TN and we look foward to it each year. We were very excited to take McKenzie for everyone to meet her, but plans changed after I got sick with Mastitis. I was down for a week with flu like symptoms and the doctor said not to do anything. I had been in the house for five days straight and was ready to get out of the house! So, we went to my parents' house for dinner. We took it easy and relaxed. My mom had taken care of McKenzie and me while I was sick and we were missing her by Sunday and she was missing us! It was a very uneventful 4th, but it was still enjoyable.
Happy 75th Birthday Mamaw!
We had a great family get-together for Mamaw's 75th birthday! We celebrated with cake and gfts and a good time together.
Happy First Mother's Day
This was the first mother's day for me and my sister-in-law. We celebrated at my grandparent's house in Maryville. The whole family was together for lunch and gifts. It was a beautiful, but chilly, day and the majority of the time was spent outside. McKenzie slept the whole time. She fell asleep at church and didn't wake up (other than feedings) until we arrived at Paeegy's house. We had the privelage of taking a picture of four genrations of girls- my grandmother, my mom, me, and MdKenzie. After time with my family we went to spend time with Johnny's mom. Happy Mother's Day!
